I came across this movie by chance and when I saw that Kristen Wiig was in it I had to see it. Like everyone, I was used to see her all goofy, making everybody laugh so, of course, I was really curious to see her playing something different, other than Gilly, Penelope or Dooneese and let me just tell you I was not disappointed.
Johanna Parry (Kristen Wiig) is this really shy caretaker, with no life experience whatsoever, that falls in love with Ken (Guy Pearce), the father of her teenager charge Sabitha (Hailee Steinfeld). What she fails to realize is that she actually is the victim of a prank.
Even though shy, inexperienced and maybe a little naive, the character that Kristen Wiig portrays is in fact quite smart and manages to gain the affection of everyone around her.
The film was adapted from Alice’s Munro book Hateship, Friendship, Courtship, Loveship, Marriage and was directed by Liza Johnson.
Personally, I think that Hateship, Loveship is a movie worthseeing. If you want to see great actors doing an incredible job portraying their characters or if you simply want to see Kristen Wiig doing something different and being good at it you should totally see this movie!
Remember,
It’s all about being happy, people!
